Fundraiser for Logan

A FUN day and Cowboy dance will be held on Saturday, May 28, at Forest Hill Primary School, to raise funds for Logan Gene Muller, who suffers from microcephaly.

Logan Gene Muller was born on February 4, 2015, a seemingly normal, healthy baby.

After a few months, the baby’s mother, Charnel Muller, noticed that Logan was falling behind with his milestones, set at particular points in time.

When she took Logan to the doctors, she was told that he had craniosynostosis, a condition that does not allow the baby’s brain to grow, because the bones fuse prematurely.

After a surgery was booked to make space for the brain to grow, Charnel and her husband, Eugene Muller, were hopeful that things were looking up, but this was short-lived when Logan started having convulsions.

After rushing Logan to the hospital, tests were done on the infant and it was discovered that Logan had a rare condition called microcephaly, which means that his brain stopped developing, and the prognosis was that Logan may never be able to walk, talk, or function normally.

This tragedy led Charnel Muller to create a foundation called the Micro Miracle foundation, which aims to help raise funds for children born with this rare condition (microcephaly), as medical costs can become very expensive.

Logan has to have weekly therapy for speech, neurophysiology, and has a monthly appointment with his paediatrician.

The fun day starts at 14:30 and will include a barnyard dance (at 19:00), kids activities, jumping castles and prizes.

Tickets cost R50, and the address is on the corner of Rifle Range and Side Road, Chrisville.
