Problem on R59 partially rectified

The RECORD shared a letter from a concerned road user on March 14 regarding an off-ramp that had no signs to indicate the distance leading up to it, the usual 300 metres, 200 metres and 100 metres signs.

According to the road user who wrote the initial letter (and who wishes to remain anonymous), he is aware of several accidents that have taken place on that stretch of road.

The road in question is on the R59, heading towards Vereeniging.

The RECORD contacted the Johannesburg Roads Agency, but were told that we should contact the Provincial Roads Agency. Upon doing so, however, after several weeks, we have received no comment from them.

The RECORD happened past the location recently and it seems action had finally be taken as signs were seen before the turn-off, but reflectors are still needed.
