Company helps keep feet warm

School is thankful for donation.

WEDNESDAY, April 13, was a joyous day for some learners at Stoneridge Primary School as a total of 85 pairs of school shoes were delivered to the school for the needy learners who are mostly part of the school’s feeding scheme. The big task of selecting beneficiaries for the school shoes was left in the capable hands of the educators, who know every learner with a need. The selected learners varied from Grade One to Seven. “It is a worrying factor to see learners with worn-out shoes with the winter season approaching. The new shoes brought smiles to the learners who even reflected their appreciation. It is now up to the parents to see that the shoes are worn to school, ” said one of the educators.

The 85 pairs of shoes were donated by Lion of Africa Insurance and were handed over by Samantha Nair (management accountant) in Palmridge. “On behalf of the SMT, SGB and the learners I would like to thank our sponsors for the kind gesture and do hope that we will maintain our relationship even in the future. It is adoring to see the smiles they brought to our learners, ” said Richard Carelse, the school principal.
