Residents must prepare for three days with no power

The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality will be carrying out planned maintenance work which will interrupt power supply to parts of Alberton.

AREAS of Alberton will be without electricity for three consecutive days due to maintenance work at the Eiger Substation Z1.

According to the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality spokesperson, Themba Gadebe, there will be a planned electricity supply interruption from Friday, March 25 until Sunday, March 27 between 07:00 to 18:00 each day.

The reason for the interruption is to carry out maintenance work at a substation.

Areas that will be affected are:

The whole of Alrode, General Alberts Park and Meyersdal, as well as parts of Randhart, Mayberry Park, Brackenhurst, Thokoza, Mpilisweni, Basothong, Phenduka section and hostels.

“The EMM wishes to apologise for any inconvenience caused and reminds customers to treat the network as electrically alive at all times,” stated Gadebe.
