Woman@Work encouraged to set goals for themselves

Having climbed four of the seven summits in the world, Marlette spoke about team work, leadership and strategies and how everyone can reach their goals.

MOLLY of the Mountains, Marlette Hegyi, was the guest speaker at the February Woman@Work event, organised by Toni Mackrell and held at Glenvista Country Club, with a Valentine’s theme.

Marlette has a passion for inspiring people and how they can achieve their goals, whether daily or long term.

Having climbed four of the seven summits in the world, Marlette spoke about team work, leadership and strategies and how everyone can reach their goals. “Each day set a goal for yourself and try to achieve it. Life is often about overcoming your fears and when I attempted to climb Mount Everest, I survived an earthquake and avalanche and definitely had to overcome my fears. Have the courage to achieve something you are afraid of. Many ordinary people achieve extraordinary things,” she added.

Sonja Harmse, director of St Mary’s Children’s Home, also spoke about the challenges the home faces. “We are under severe strain with ever rising costs but our children remain well loved and cared for. If you would like to become a volunteer or a host or assist in any other way , please phone me on 011 435 3820,” she said.
