Residents to get park

“The park was also inhabited by vagrants and was used as a dumping site for garden refuse and building rubble,''

LAND has been designated as a park on the corner of Soutpansberg Drive and Tafelberg Avenue, in Oakdene, Johannesburg South. After the stream which runs next to the designated park area had become contaminated due to rubbish being dumped into it, as well as the invasion of alien vegetation, Oakdene Neighbourhood Watch’s Phillip Venter approached Balwin Properties for assistance.

“The park was also inhabited by vagrants and was used as a dumping site for garden refuse and building rubble,” said Venter. ”It couldn’t carry on like this so, when Balwin Properties were willing to assist, we brought in extra soil to enrich the soil in the park.

“A big thank you to Roger Brookes and his team from Balwin Properties for assisting us with our endeavours.”

Members of Oakdene Neighbourhood Watch and City Parks will be meeting to discuss further development in the park.
