Safety tips for motorists
Motorists, keep these tips in mind to stay safe while driving.
WHILE the New Year has only just begun, crime continues to be rife in society with robberies and hijackings a worrying concern for the SAPS.
Tips to remember:
* Keep all doors locked while driving.
* Do not keep valuables such as handbags or cellphones on the passenger seat.
* Do not pick up hitch-hikers. Not even people dressed as school.children. Take no risks.
* Remember that some beggars can be criminals looking for opportunities to commit crime.
* Beware of car car remote jamming. Check to make sure the doors are locked.
* Make sure you know how to change a flat tyre on your own and make minor repairs.
