Cunning female robber on the loose

An 83-year-old resident warns residents in the South and Meyersdal areas that an alleged female swindler is targeting unsuspecting motorists.

JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – An alleged female swindler is on the prowl and more than one man might have fallen prey to her.

An 83-year-old resident has reached out to the CHRONICLE to let other residents in the South and Meyersdal area know of his experience with a reported female swindler.

“I was coming from the Alberton Old Age Home and was using the N12 when I saw a young woman on the Xavier off ramp who was asking for a lift. She told me that she had to pick up a child from a creche. When she was in the car, she demanded money from me and said she’ll tell people that I raped her if I didn’t give her money.

“I drove to Ridgeway and wanted to leave her at the shops when she said she’s hungry and that I must give her money for food. I just thought I should give it to her so she can get out of the car but when I took out my wallet she grabbed it and took R250. I told her to give me my money back but she said she will go into the shop and tell the people that I raped her,” said the distraught elderly man.

According to the elderly man he’s heard that this woman operates in the south at the Comaro and the Mondeor off ramps as well as in Meyersdal. He wanted to warn other unsuspecting residents to be on the lookout for the female trickster.

She is reportedly white with a dark complexion, has a tattoo on the right side of her neck, she’s about five foot tall and skinny. She has brownish reddish colour hair.

Mondeor Sector Two CPF also posted an alert on their social media page and have urged residents to exercise caution and not pick up hitchhiking strangers.
