Preschool wins recycling competition

Creative Academy Preschool and Baby Centre won the Mpact Recycling School and Community Paper Pick-up Programme.

ALBERTON – Creative Academy Preschool and Baby Centre recycled their way to first place in the Mpact Recycling School and Community Paper Pick-up Programme on Friday, November 20.

The school, only established in February this year, competed with 70 other schools from Alberton, Germiston, Johannesburg South, Krugersdorp, Lenasia, Lenasia South, Randburg, Roodepoort and the West Rand to collect the most paper for recycling in the area.

The preschoolers, parents and teachers at the school put in a good effort and collected 4.571 tons of paper between June 2015 and October 2015. Their efforts won Creative Academy Preschool and Baby Centre R5 714. The two children who collected the most paper were given R500 each and a certificate for their achievement.
