No load shedding until next year

Residents will be glad to hear that they will not be needing their load shedding schedules until next year.

JOHANNESBURG – According to Eyewitness News (EWN), Eskom CEO Brian Molefe has told Parliament that the utility does not expect to implement load shedding until April next year.

It is believed that Molefe said that Eskom will continue to supply electricity and to maintain its plants with minimal or no load shedding.

Eskom has only cut power to certain areas for two hours in the last 87 days, EWN reported.

Earlier this year, unit six at the Medupi Power Station was brought online, which added about 800 megawatts to the grid.

Eskom’s Khulu Phasiwe last week said they had taken it offline for testing and they were able to avoid load shedding.
