Police stops alleged robber in his tracks

An alleged business robbery took place at a pub in Second Avenue in Alberton North.

ALBERTON – A suspect made a brief appearance in the Palmridge Magistrate’s Court for a business robbery that occurred earlier this month.

Sergeant Phora Nkuna, spokesperson at the Alberton Police, said the alleged business robbery took place at a pub in Second Avenue in Alberton North.

“One of the employees managed to provide the police with information that helped them in recovering a vehicle that we believe was used in the commission of the robbery.” Nkuna said the pub was robbed of an undisclosed amount of money, cellphones and jewellery.

Thanks to the information the police received, a suspect was arrested and charged with robbery after being found driving the vehicle. The vehicle was confiscated and booked in at the Alberton Police Station.

Nkuna advised victims of crimes to try and memorise as much information as possible about the perpetrators without disobeying their commands as any information or details will help the police to track down suspects.
