House robber receives suspended sentence

A suspect was handed down a five year sentence in the Palm Ridge Magistrate's Court.

PALMRIDGE – A five year sentence was recently handed down to a house robber in the Palm Ridge Magistrates Court.

Sergeant Phora Nkuna, a police spokesperson, said the suspect was arrested for house breaking and theft in 2011.

“The sentence was also suspended for five years if the convicted criminal is not found guilty of a similar offence.”

Phora said the police thank Detective Warrant Officer Archibold Majebe fron the Alberton Police Station for his efforts in solving this case and added that Alberton will now be a bit more safer.
