TRAFFIC is still backed up after an 11:00 accident on the N12 and N3-split in Germiston, this morning.
The seriously injured driver of a bakkie had to be freed with the Jaws of Life after he collided with a stationary truck in the middle lane.
Kevin Peel, spokesperson for the National Paramedical Services (NPS), said the man was trapped inside his vehicle and later airlifted to the Netcare Union Hospital in Alberton.
