Keriscia creatively helps others

Keriscia Govender is following her dream to contribute to the community through creativity.

ALBERTON – Keri Girl Foundation began their charitable outreach in Alberton by holding a creative afternoon at the AMCARE Centre of Faith, Hope and Love on Tuesday, September 8.

Founded by Keriscia Govender (23), a marketing graduate with a dream to give back to communities through creativity, the Keri Girl Foundation aims to visit registered orphanages to teach children about creative crafts, recycling, beauty and baking.

“Creativity is the first building block to success,” explained Keriscia.

Kerischia has already been on one trip to Kenya to volunteer at an orphanage from April 19 to 28. She chronicled her time with children in Kenya in a daily log of experiences with the children creating craft projects while waiting for her own non-profit organisation (NPO) to be registered in South Africa.

The Keri Girl Foundation is a voluntary association that was registered with the Department of Social Development on April 28, 2015.
