Mall of the South opens to thousands

It was a great day for Mall of the South shoppers!

ASPEN HILLS  – Mall of the South opened its doors on Heritage Day, Thursday September 24 to thousands of shoppers who came out to take advantage of the excellent specials which many of the bigger stores were offering.

As shoppers queued the atmosphere was jovial, with people discussing what they were at the mall to buy. The queues for DionWired, Game, and Incredible Connection were long but customers’ remained happy, even though the wait was long.

One shopper who was in the queue at Coricraft waited patiently, keeping her fingers crossed she would be one of the lucky 20 who could buy a couch on special. “I got one. I feel like I’ve just bought a new car,” she laughed.

“All the staff in the car park, security and shops are very friendly and helpful. It was an absolute pleasure to shop here and I hope this continues going forward,” said Tanya Kieck, a Bassonia resident.

By about 10:30 shoppers were parking along Kliprivier Drive to avoid the congestion and huge queue of vehicles waiting to gain entrance to the mall.

“We love the mall. It’s spacious, bright and airy. We’ll be eating at one of the restaurants for lunch,” said a couple from Glenvista.

“It’s been a bit too hectic today for us, although we love it, but we’ll definitely be back over the weekend,” added friends from Brackenhurst.
