SOUTHGATE — Hundreds of fans gathered at the Southgate Shopping Centre on Wednesday, September 9, to support the Springboks ahead of the 2015 Rugby World Cup in England.
The first hundred fans received the Springboks’ rugby team t-shirts and small rugby balls which were signed by the players of their choice.
Journalists from various media houses attended the jam-packed event to also show their support while broadcasting to audiences who could not make it.
The first three fans to receive their team t-shirts were from the Southern COURIER’s Kenilwoorth area, followed by one from the Comaro CHRONICLE’s Mondeor area.
Fans wished the players success on their opening game against Japan at the Brighton Community Stadium in Brighton, England.
The Springboks will also play games against SAMOA, Scotland, and the USA, who are all in Fixture Pool B.
