Toddlers bless Tristan

ALBERTON- Tristan Delport, head boy of Alberton High, received a big surprise when toddlers from The Child pre-school raised R2 000 for his Arthur Johnson rugby trip to Ireland.

The principal, Debbie le Roux, has been following Tristan’s development since he left the pre-school and wanted to help him. She encouraged the children to raise money for Tristan, who she used to call ‘Kwaatjie’ as a toddler. “I was so surprised. I just can’t believe it” says Tristan.

Tristan is busy studying for prelims and is also training for the Arthur Johnson tournament during the October holidays. Many Albertonians and people all over the world have already contributed financially to cover his expenses.

More good news came when Tristan was informed that he was accepted into the Sharks Rugby Academy. He went for an evaluation on Wednesday, August 26. “We are so proud of him” says mom Jeanine. The family wants to thank Mr Flip Cowly for recently donating R5 000 as well as everyone else who has made financial contributions.
