Would-be-robber caught in the act

A security company in Alberton urges residents to report any suspicious activities to their 24 hour control room.

ALBERTON – A would-be robber, who tried to break into a property in Collet Street, Raceview, was arrested by CPS Security on July 28.

CPS security 24 hour control room received an alarm activation from a customer in Collett Street, Raceview.

The security company received an alarm activation from a customer and two reaction units were dispatched. On their arrival, the reaction officers noticed a male jumping over the wall from where the alarm was activated.

Upon investigation it was established that the suspect had attempted to break into the property but was stopped in his tracks when he activated the alarm by running through the beams.

The suspect was taken into custody by the Alberton SAP.

CPS urges residents of Alberton to report any suspicious activity to the control room, by phoning 011 024 2426.
