House keys bring smiles to elderly
Finally keys to a home they can call their own and big smiles to go with that.
EKURHULENI – Tuesday, July 7, was a happy day for the elderly when they received keys to their new homes in Eden Park West. The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality officials of Human Settlements handed out 13 keys to beneficiaries who moved in immediately.
“The first batch of keys was issued in May 2015, where we handed over 39 keys to the elderly. Now we have issued 13 more and will continue to do so as houses are completed by the contractors,” said Natiswa Jakalashe from Housing.
Gogos Maria Ramatla and Flora Ramushu, both from Vosloorus, exclaimed simultaneously: “Thank you Lord, you answered our prays. Now we have homes of our own. Out of a Zozo into a beautiful house.”
