Brendon’s fun ride less than three weeks away

CALLING all avid cyclists and those who want to be part of a good cause to gear up and get ready for the fun ride in aid of Brendon Macdonald.

On July 26, the fun ride will roll out from the Circus Coffee Shop on the R59 at 10:00.

Brendon, is a 14-year old learner from Hoërskool Marais Viljoen who suffers from progressive scoliosis or severe curvature of the spine. His orthopedic surgeon recommended that an operation be done as soon as possible to ensure that Brendon can live a normal life. Brendon’s operation is scheduled for July 28.

The family hopes to raise R60 000 with the fun ride which will go towards covering the operation cost of R230 000.

Entry fee for the 32km ride is R250 per adult and R100 per child for the 10km or 12km route. Entry fees include a burger and cold-drink courtesy of the Circus Coffee Shop. The Circus Coffee Shop is also sponsoring two 29”er tyres valued at R1 700 and meal vouchers for a raffle draw.

The winner of the race will receive a cycling shirt sponsored by the ride organisers, DOC Mountain Bikers and all participants will receive medals.
