Car crash in De Waal

ALBERTON – According to a press release from Netcare 911, emergency services arrived on scene to find a car that crashed against a tree.

The driver was entrapped in the car and emergency services had to use the Jaws of Life to free the entrapped occupant.

It took about an hour to get the driver out of the car.

“Upon extrication, the critically injured patient was removed from the vehicle, treated at the scene and transported to hospital for further medical care,” Santi Steinmann, Media Liaison Officer of Netcare 911 said in a press release.

Exact detail surrounding the cause of the crash and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
