ALBERTON – Two teachers at an Alberton North pre-school have been recorded while allegedly abusing learners on the playground.
The two educators were filmed with a cellphone camera while throwing a ball with learners. The video footage depicts one of the teachers knocking the ball against one child’s head and the other teacher is seen hitting a child on the behind.
The video has been passed between residents and parents in the area, after it was taken from a balcony in a neighbouring apartment block. Residents have brought the footage to the attention of the school administration.
A case of abuse has been opened at Alberton SAPS. According to spokesperson Sergeant Nkuna, no arrests have been made and the police are still investigating the matter.
