Ladies receive more than they bargain for at Doxa Deo camp

The ladies that attended the Doxa Deo ladies camp at Sha-Mani in May had a life changing experience with Sue Jameson, the joy activist and Antoinet Viviers who challenged them to press deeper into the presence of God.

ALBERTON- Ladies, if you missed out on this one, then make sure that you are part of this all inspiring event next year. Doxa Deo – Meyersdal Campus hosted a ladies camp at Sha-Mani from May 22 to 24, and the Cherish Ladies Ministry, with Antoinet Viviers at the helm, organised the most stunning event for the ladies that attended.

“A Lot of people think that ladies camps are boring and just a bunch of ladies chatting, but I was inspired. I received practical tools, we had fun, had communion with God and friends. I made new friends and spent time at the feet of Jesus. My soul is restored, my perception of life has changed and my desire to live is back. I can say a lot more but to sum it up in one word, awesome,” said Odette van Schalkwyk.

In her presentation, Antoinet challenged the ladies to move into a deeper relationship with God; to decide what they would be willing to give up in order to move into the front row, as close to Him as possible, with nothing hindering their view or distracting them from looking into His eyes. She relayed the scripture of Mary Magdalene and how she chose to sit at the feet of Jesus in spite of criticism.

Sue Jameson, a joy activist and laughter coach, inspired the women to start laughing more and rediscover the joy of the Lord. Tanya du Toit says the whole camp far exceeded her expectations and she realises that everyone needs to laugh a lot more. Sue explained all the health benefits of laughing and soon had the ladies in stitches.

On Saturday afternoon, the ladies let their artistic sides loose and created beautiful beaded jewellery before they were treated to a fashion parade hosted by Mooi Noi creations.

“For me it was a journey of discovery, emotionally and spiritually,” said Wilma Smit.

The beautiful décor, flowers, ministry, food, fellowship and attention to detail, made this camp a very special event indeed.
