Knights fight the cold

Winter Knights have sent out a call to the community to join them in spreading warmth to those less fortunate.

ALBERTON – Winter Knights have sent out a call to the community to join them in spreading warmth to those less fortunate.

“This is the 12th year that the Winter Knights campaign will unite communities through the giving and receiving of blankets, clothing and hot meals that warm not only bodies, but the hearts of all involved,” said Leon Garbade, president of Round Table Southern Africa.

The Winter Knights serve their community with a variety of fundraising activities organised by men between the ages of 18 and 40 years. Their delivery of winter supplies at homeless shelters, orphanages and old age homes brings smiles to the faces of young and old alike.

“We believe that the true measure of our success is the hope that is spread to those who receive and the joy that is felt by those who are able to give. We are looking forward to another successful fundraising project, which is only made possible with the involvement and partnership with our local communities,” concluded Leon.

You can support your Winter Knights by donating blankets, warm clothing, non-perishable food items and monetary donations. To get in contact with your local Table, please visit the website at www.RoundTableSA.co.za or like the Facebook page on www.facebook.com/RoundTableSA.
