ALBERTON – The Ekurhuleni Metro Municipality (EMM) will be hosting a service delivery open day on May 15 in Vosloorus.
According to a press release from EMM, the open day is aimed at strengthening customer and government relations. The open day will take place at the Vosloorus Customer Care Centre from 08:00 until 17:00.
EMM will use this as an opportunity to explain to residents how they can utilize the services, which EMM provides, to their advantage.
“This initiative is an educational tool that will equip residents with the knowledge of how to use their services. For example, there are instances where residents contact emergency services to report a burst pipe instead of the reporting it through the municipal services call centre,” said Ekurhuleni spokesperson Themba Gadebe.
“This call potentially blocks an emergency from being attended to on time. Therefore, in order to improve customers’ experiences with government services, our people need to know who we are and what our role as a municipality is,” said Gadebe.
The service delivery open day is one of the vehicles which the Metro has adopted to create a platform for a more customer-focused approach, driven by the Batho Pele Principles.
