ALBERTON – A suspect has been brought in for questioning in connection with the brick throwing incident on the N12.
The incident took place on April 30, where a pedestrian on the side of the N12 West threw bricks at passing cars.
Two passengers, in separate cars, were struck by the bricks and severely injured.
Caden Slabbert, a primary school student, was one of the victims injured during the attack. He was in a medically induced coma after the incident and is being treated in the Clinton Hospital.
The second victim, Marionette Schwab, is also being treated for severe injuries to her head.
A man, matching the description of the N12 attacker, was spotted throwing bricks onto 2nd Avenue, Alberton North, today (May 7).
The suspect was detained by SOG security personnel and transported to Alberton SAPS for questioning.
Identification of the suspect has not been confirmed by eye witnesses, however the suspect was wearing clothing matching the description given to police.
No official arrest has been made but the suspect is still in custody for questioning.
