The Woodpecker Choir Festival

The Cantare Children’s Choir is hosting a Choir Festival as part of their 20th anniversary.

ALBERTON – The Choir Festival will take place on May 6 at the NG Church Alberton South in Phantom Street, Raceview.

The festival will start at 18:30 for 19:00. R50 will get you in and school children accompanied by parents can enter for free.

Cantare is privileged to host the choirs of Randrefrein, Brackenhurst Primary and Dalmondeor Primary. A mass choir will end a delightful evening with The Woodpecker Song. The performance will last approximately 90 minutes and the festivities should end at 20:30.

There will also be a tuck shop where you can enjoy a vetkoek and mince. The tuck shop will be open at 18:00.

The night forms part of a fundraising effort for the Cantare Children’s Choir planned tour to Spain in 2016. There they would participate in the Golden Voices of Montserrat, that will be held in Lloret de Mar.

The choir has participated in many international competitions over the past 20 years and received outstanding awards every time they participated in any of the international or national events.
