Montanus Primary supports AACL

As part of the school’s community support program, learners and teachers donated food to the lovely animals.

Once again Laerskool Montanus Primary staff, learners and their parents generously donated food to the Animal Anti-Cruelty League on Saturday March 14.

This was part of Laerskool Montanus Primary’s community support program which has a lot of respect and a huge appreciation for the wonderful work the Animal Anti-Cruelty league does.

After the excited staff assisted in feeding, bathing and playing with the animals, school principal Mr. Khan said: “This unique experience reaffirmed the need for community involvement in caring for our domestic animals. We have already embarked on programs and ways to get our learners more consciously involved in animal welfare.”

The school has a reputation for giving and working with various non-profit organisations such as Meals on Wheels to ensure that learners learn Ubuntu from an early age.

In 2014, Montanus staff and learners were applauded by Bev Turk, who found it inspiring and beautiful to see learners in grade R and grade one care about the well-being of domestic animals.
