Ligstad golf day a huge success

With what could have easily been just a wired fence between golfers and the hell, not even the blazing sun could put a damper on the spirit at Reading Country Club on Thursday with the Alberton RECORD /Ligstad golf day.

ALBERTON – Good fellowship among the golfers, a couple of ‘watering’ points on the course and with golfers in full swing, it was clear that everyone was there to have a fun day golfing and to support a worthy cause.

The main purpose of the golf day was to raise enough money to pay off the newly acquired bus for Ligstad, used to transport aftercare children from school to the centre. It gives the RECORD and Ligstad great pleasure to announce, that thanks to all our sponsors and golfers, the bus is now fully paid for and owned by Ligstad.

Thank you to our sponsors – without you this day could not have been possible:

Botha en Roodt, Sigma Coatings, Alberante GM, Alberante BMW, CPS Security, Digital-ID Technologies, Johan Fourie, Raceview Motors, Alberante ARC, Fencing Materials, Mirabile Lodge, Meat World, Pick n Pay the Lemon Tree, Squeeze-In Spar, Meyersdal Harbour Fish and Grill, Autodealer, Elegant Bliss.

A huge thank you also goes out to the golfers. Not only for their participation on the day, but also for digging deep into their pockets during the day and at the prize-giving. Your active participation during the auction paid good dividends for Ligstad’s fundraising golf day, as did your contributions towards the raffle sales and the Flightscope fundraising efforts. We thank each one of the following teams for your support:

Botha and Roodt, Auto Eternity, Kredcor, Alberante BMW, Anmar, Marietjie Tame and team, CPS security, FNB, VIP Metals, Procure Alarms, Solar Maverick, Bytes Technology, FW Nel and Partners, Kyle Klopper, InstraServe, Raceview Motors, NGL, Edge 2 Edge, NAB, Accencia, FED Properties, Sigma Coatings, Impala Paving, AA Cilliers, Team For the Community and other teams who entered as private players. We value your support.

Ligstad is a community project in Alberton North with the less privileged and needy in the community. Their services include an aftercare centre for about 70 children, elderly care, a feeding scheme, counselling, distribution of clothing, upkeep of a vegetable garden in support of their feeding scheme, a brand new playgroup for preschool children as well as praise and worship.
