Help AMCARE to ensure children’s safety

Ever increasing costs of paraffin and the danger of paraffin stoves especially around children, have led to the AMCARE Centre of Hope, Love & Faith in New Market Park now asking for donations of two-plate gas stoves.

ALBERTON – Of the many services AMCARE delivers to the less fortunate, is the care of orphaned and vulnerable children, also known as their OVC programme.

“We are currently supplying paraffin to child-headed homes in areas such as Eden Park West and the squatter camps of Greenfields and Thinazonke. But paraffin is not always the safest option. Not only will the gas stoves be safer to use, but it is also cheaper and it cooks faster,” says Nontembeko Magadla, auxiliary social worker at AMCARE.

Any person wishing to assist with this, can contact Percy Howroyd on 011 868 5856 for further detail. Please visit the AMCARE website on www.amcare.org.za for more information on the activities and services of AMCARE.
