Cigarette van robbed twice in a week

The cigarette delivery vehicle fell victim to two armed robberies in the same week. The first armed robbery was at the corner of Alfa and Cadillac streets on January 6 and the second on January 9 in Bentley Street.

EDEN PARK  – A resident who asked for anonymity, alleged that the robbery occurred in the presence of many residents and that the armed robbers could not care less who was watching.

The eyewitness said: “The van drove into Bentley Street driven by one of the robbers. The driver was kicked into a car and a Quantum Minibus parked next to the loaded van. Wearing balaclavas and armed with AK-47 assault rifles the robbers took their time to load all the boxes into the minibus and just drove off. They never bothered about all the people standing around and watching them.”

By the time the police arrived, the robbers in their white car and minibus where long gone. Registration number plates for both vehicles were false. Police are still investigating both cases.
