Police pinches pilferer

A Germiston police task team has recovered millions of rands' worth of stolen feminine products from a hijacked truck in Brackendowns.

The team made a breakthrough after witnesses reported seeing people offloading the truck under suspicious circumstances.

It is alleged that the truck was stolen in the early hours of the morning on January 7. The vehicle was hijacked at a petrol station and forced to drive to an industrial site in Brackendowns where offloading began. Once police approached the site a group of suspects fled the scene. One suspect was arrested and charged with possession of suspected stolen property.

Police are appealing to anyone who might have information about the suspects to forward it to Crime Stop at 08600 10111 or SMS it to Prime Media at 32211.
