365 days initiative to curb violence

Campaign aimed at discouraging violence extended to a 365-day programme.

JOHANNESBURG – A year-long initiative was launched by the South African government aiming to further emphasise the message of 16 Days of Activism. On December 10, Minister of Women in the Presidency Susan Shabangu and Crime Line launched the 365 Days of Activism.

With the annual 16 Days of Activism campaign ended on December 10, the newly launched year-long programme against the violence of women and children aims to eradicate the scourge of crimes perpetrated against the lesser parties.

Minister Shabangu said the programme would take forward the vision of the November/ December initiative observed from November 25 to December 10, which is also internationally recognised.

The slogan for 365 Days of Activism is “Count Me In”.
