Silence after Deep in the Woods

It is six weeks since the incident took place, and victims who have been shot have still not been able to give their full statements of what happened on the evening of the shooting. This was the case when the RECORD went to press.

ALBERTON – Police has still not taken any statements from the victims involved in the Deep in the Woods shooting incident.

The victims have previously been contacted telephonically and after the telephone calls police stated that the victims would be contacted soon to meet them and take their statements.

Those who were involved in the shooting have been trying to make contact with the police in an attempt to give statements and to find out more information about the investigation, with no luck.

The RECORD has also attempted to find out more information after the shooting. The investigation has been taken over by Provincial police.

It has been more than two weeks after emails, requesting information about the case, has been sent. At the time of going to press, there still was no answers to the email questions posed to the police.

One of the victim’s mothers describes her experiences with the police and this case as “hitting brick wall after brick wall”.
