Shop till you drop at the Night Market

The Annual AMCARE Christmas Night Market will this year incorporate Christmas Carols and a Christmas Story brought to you by the Youth of the Alberton Methodist Church.

ALBERTON – This market traditionally marks the start of the festive season in our community and takes place on Friday November 28 from 16:00 onwards.

The now famous Tree of Lights will be switched on at 20:15 on this day and the lights will continue to shine throughout the month of December. This ceremony allows family and friends to remember their loved ones who have passed away by purchasing a light bulb and have it shine in their honour.

This is the market where Albertonians are guaranteed to find that special Christmas gift for the special people in their lives. In between the shopping and the choice of delightful treats on the menu, patrons can also enjoy the entertainment lined up, which this year includes ventriloquist Gareth Lush.

This event is one of the main fundraising events for AMCARE, a multi-purpose health and social development organisation servicing poor and vulnerable persons in the greater Alberton area of Ekurhuleni. The market takes place on their premises at 15 Heidelberg Rd, on the corner Ascot Road, New Market Park, Alberton.

Your contact person to book a table if you’re interested in selling you wares, is Marion on 011 902 5674. To purchase a coloured bulb for the Remembrance Tree, kindly contact Desire on 011 869 5856.
