Yes we can is the attitude to have

The 2014 final matric exam is here, and it is time for all learners to be well prepared mentally and physically. They need all the support available, whether from the school, teachers or most importantly, their parents.

EDEN PARK -The community can still praise the class of 2013 for achieving a 94.9 per cent pass rate. This class was outstanding and had set a challenge for those to follow. The class showed that nothing is impossible.

Well, the class of 2014 can boldly say “Yes we can”. All they need is serious and intensive revision and support from the school, teachers and parents who must show a positive drive and support for their children.

Parents should emulate the parents of 2013, who gave positive support to both children and teachers. It does not help anyone if a parent can only criticise the school and teachers, but does not offer any positive solutions to the wrong they notice.

“Yes we can” should be the drive behind the 2014 class for motivation. It is a known fact that the Minister of Basic Education Angie Motshega was disappointed with the June matric results throughout the country. Results were poor and even Eden Park Secondary had poor results. But, just like parents of 2013, the 2014 parents must support the learners in a positive way and consider the poor June results as a measuring stick for the coming exams.

Together we can do it – Yes we can!
