Out with the old in with the new

The gym in Meyersdal lives on with a new name

THE opening of Premium Fitness Centre at the Meyersdal Eco Office Park, Micelle Avenue and Hennie Alberts Street on August 29 was an opportunity for all and typically business families in the area to have a look at where they’d be doing their exercise routines.

How was the gym saved? A letter had been sent out to members of the previous gym explaining that the gym will be closing on May 31 and would not be re-opening for business on June 2. Then a group of business members had come together in a meeting sometime during this year to discuss the relevance of families and homes within the area and concluded that the gym be repositioned (still in the same centre) and remodelled for use by the community.

What’s different? The gym features a new set of values which includes: no lengthy contracts, a structure of family membership rates, a fully staffed personal assessment centre, a premium café (with nutritional meals and eating plans), state-of-the-art equipment, fitness assistance, classes and personal trainers.

Premium Fitness Centre has also signed a contract deal with a company that supplies the equipment to the gym. The gym will continue to work with the company to ensure that the equipment remain current and cutting edge.

As of early 2015, the gym is planning a spinning section with state-of-the-art spinning bikes in place.
