A new classroom for Tshwaragano Primary School

We are are not raising these kids to grow old staying here, we want to see them going places - said Principal Mrs Tlou

THOKOZA – Once again Transvaal Heavy Transport (THT) touched the hearts of learners, teachers, the SGB and the school principal of Tshwaragano Primary School on Friday August 22.

The company’s staff, Managing Director Sampie Swanepoel and his family, provided a new classroom for grade R after they were touched on Mandela Day when they went to the school to do their bit, only to see young boys and girls learning in a shack.

Transvaal Heavy Transport has a reputation for being a company which extends a giving hand to the less fortunate without the presence of the media.

This event was a very emotional one to both THT and the school’s staff; it was full of surprises from the word go. Teachers had prepared a moving song for Principal Mrs Tlou and Mr Swanepoel and all the THT staff members.

THT staff members expected a short day where they would open the new classroom for the youngest boys and girls in the school, but were shocked to find learners from all grades had prepared plays, songs and poems for them.

It was a morning THT will never forget as they ended up opening a circle to dancing, singing and laughing with the teachers and learners of the grateful school.

THT also brought 1 100 gift bags for the learners to enjoy before they went to classes to continue learning.

“We came to the school on Mandela Day to paint the playground for the kids and we saw that the grade R learners were learning in a shack classroom. We immediately decided to build a class for learners, because they are our future leaders,”

“We want to thank God because all the praise belongs to Him as he blessed us to come and do this. We are happy to do this and to be here today,” said a joyful Sampie Swanepoel.

“I want to say thank you to THT. We are very grateful and happy for what they have done for us. We are are not raising these kids to grow old staying here, we want to see them going places,” said Principal Mrs Tlou.
