Should you witness a crime, pay attention to the following:
The number of persons involved in committing the crime.
Focus on one of the criminals and try to remember details such as his or her age, built, height, clothing, distinctive body features, scars, tattoos or facial marks, hairstyle, speech, and anything that struck you as odd or unusual.
The criminals’ position while the crime was committed.
The routes the criminals used to get to and from the crime scene.
The type of firearms, objects or weapons used.
Objects handled during the event.
A description of vehicles used.
The names the criminals used to address one another.
Write down these observations before discussing it with others as this influence your recall of the event.
