Women’s Connection is a life changing experience

The meeting is for all to be enlightened by what other woman experience in their life

THE Women’s Connection meeting on August 13 at Brackenhurst Bowling club brought spiritual enlightenment to the people who participated.

Erika Botha, chairlady for the day’s event, welcomed the speakers and participants. Those who celebrated their birthday during the months of July and August, received a bible text card with a message in English and Afrikaans.

Wilma Paton, who has lived in Alberton for around 30 years, married an English man and has two children, spoke about women and their hand bags: “What does you handbag say about you as a person? Various types of handbags, the content and sizes all determine or reflect the person’s personality.”

Ethel Lottering, guest speaker from Linden spoke about the extra baggage women carry. She explained how she had married three times and in her journey how each marriage played a different role in her life.

From her first husband who mentally abused her, to the second who used alcohol and had other lovers, and her decisions to make the next move for a better life. With regards to her third marriage, she has been together with the “one” for 13 years. She has a daughter from the previous marriage and a young son from the present marriage.

Her relationship with Jesus gave her the courage and His forgiveness is pure and grace is sufficient to get through life situations.

“There’s a void that needs to be filled and how people usually fill that void is through alcohol, drugs, worldly things, but if you give yourself to God then he can fill that void for you,” said Ethel.
