Suspects arrested for stealing wire

Suspects who stole wiring from a local business was caught, even before the business owners were aware that goods had been stolen.

ALBERTON – The arrest was made by Sgt Mgedezi, who noticed the suspects pushing a dustbin. She thought it was suspicious and called for backup from Warrant Officers Ngobeni and Mabasa.

They caught up to the suspects at Ring Road East next to the old race course.

One of the suspects managed to run away, but the other was caught. The suspect was in possession of wiring stolen from a spares shop. A case of possession of stolen property was opened.

A charge of business-breaking was added after the owners opened a case.

The Station Commander Colonel Kubone appreciates what the members of Alberton SAPS are doing to fight crime and thanked them for their commitment. Colonel Kubone also noted that it does not go unnoticed that members of the SAPS do their work well, without the need of constant supervision.
