ALBERTON – One of our journalists will be going to an electrical substation to find out exactly what is going on, and why Alberton is having power outages.
The article posted yesterday was according to information given by the Ekurhuleni Metro Municipality call centre.
Journalists have been trying to get relevant information from the EMM Media Relations department since yesterday at 15:00.
A councillor has informed the RECORD that it was not a damaged cable after work was done on water pipes in Alrode, but the problem was caused by vandalism to a substation.

Been phoning for an hour now and still no Answer at the call center.

Power still out in parts of New Redruth when will the electricity be back on? Losing time on work here! Why can’t they just attend to it immediately instead of putting other things first? So much business is being lost! When will we find out when the electricity will be on?

The power is off due to no maintenance work done after last year. The same problem was experienced last year and the electrical breakers were replaced for millions of rand. Technology can provide solution
The power goes of at 12 oclock yesterday and went on at 20:30 last night. just to be put of today. and until know the call centre tells me that it was cable theft and they dont know when it will be fixed. At this stage the people are without power. and the council does not care aslong as they get there money every month.
