MY Favourite Swings on Saturday August 2 was set for 20:00 at The Lyric Theatre, Gold Reef City with the Johannesburg Big Band, Chiano Sky and Timothy Moloi performing.
After the success of the Johannesburg Big Band’s shows directed by Adam Howard, the artists made a welcome return to the Theatre to showcase a number of songs.
It was a one night show dedicated to the sounds of jazz and swing, a musical journey that paid tribute to the greatest jazz and swing songs interspersed with contemporary numbers made popular by the stars who performed and composed them.
Chiano and Timothy added their vocal talents to the band’s music set with hits that included New York, New York; Fever; What a Wonderful World; Sway; Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend; Mr Bojangles; Valerie; Mack The Knife; Rumour and many more…
It was a night to be remembered.
