Tokreen: 3D art

Creating art using Tokreen paint

CHARLOTTE Smith from Randhart, Langenhoven Street is a Tokreen artist with art pieces consisting of both indoor and outdoor which are all waterproof.

Charlotte’s venture started when she saw a Tokreen spade around three years ago and she bought it and thought it would be something worth getting into.

She googled Tokreen and happened to find someone on facebook. She and another Tokreen artist started communicating through facebook from around December last year and he explained to her how to create the art. The art is created by using a paint called Tokreen (paint and glue or hardener mixed).

After their facebook relationship developed, the man and his wife taught Charlotte and showed her ways in which she could design with various materials, for example: How to make a rope out of bandage to be used as a frame or how to design a background using paper towels.

Since then, Charlotte has not stopped and is always busy creating new concepts and ideas.

“If you start Tokreen, you’ll never want to stop. Other people’s items that are not used, are used to create something spectacular,” said Charlotte.

If you voted at the Alberton Fire Department on voting day, Charlotte was there selling her some of her pieces.
