Sewage stops business in its tracks

The sewage problems occurs once a month

ALBERTON NORTH – The 8th Avenue Alberton North business manager of Silverton Radiators witnessed a flood of sewage on July 28, which took over the area where the business operates from.

This also happened a month ago in the same working area, and according to Thys, the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality opened a manhole nearby which apparently had been blocked.

It was reported seven times as a matter of urgency to officials during the morning and no one attended to the matter.

Thys said that they only came out on July 29 at around 21:00 and the facility was cleaned up. He was relieved that the business could resume operating as usual.

  1. There is a very big problem with the sewage in Alberton North and it seems unblocking it every month isn’t solving the problem properly. We have a manhole in our yard and we have recently had issues of it overflowing as well. They need to do something about it. If its not issues with power then it the sewage.

  2. It seems we have the same problem here in Meyersdal as well! I saw that there are people from the municipality attending to it.
