Alberton

Councillor profile – Ward 38: Estelle Visser.

Your visions for your ward:

A ward where service delivery is prioritised.

What are the most important changes you want to see happening?

That the DA will be the governing party so that my ward can become a place where service delivery is prioritised.

What will you use the money allocated towards your ward for?

To implement the priorities as per the IDP for my ward, as was suggested by my ward committee for the past three years, namely: repairing the bridge over Swartkoppies; upgrading and the repair of the water systems at Jackson Dam; resurfacing the roads in ward 38 where bad workmanship resulted in the tarred surfaces deteriorating.

Your career as a councillor:

“I am a councillor for 18 years now and the ward councillor for Ward 38 since 2011. I am available for my community at all reasonable times, and as an opposition councillor I am using all avenues available to attend to problems in my ward.

“Important to note that we as Democratic Alliance is not the governing party, and we are not responsible for bad service delivery and inefficient administrative processes, because we do not have any input in the appointment of officials.

“On the other hand, I have to salute all those officials that do support me with dedication at all times, they are the key to get any issue sorted out.”

Her areas are Brackenhurst, Brackendowns, Albertsdal, Meyersdal 9 (South of Heart Avenue).
