Petrol increases to be in effect from midnight

Increases are set to hit consumers hard.

Petrol prices will increase at midnight tonight.

South Africa’s fuel prices are adjusted on a monthly basis, determined by international and local factors.

The latest increase is due to the rise in the price of crude oil, which peaked at above $115 per barrel and the depreciation of the Rand/Dollar exchange rate.

Diesel will increase by 14.0 cents/ litre.

Illuminating paraffin (SMNRP) will increase by 31.0 cents/litre.

Petrol (93 ULP and LRP) will increase by 29.0 cents/litre.

Petrol (95 ULP and LRP) will increase by 31.0 cents/litre.

Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) will increase by 58.0 cents/kilogramme.

In addition, energy prices will also increase today, which means residents will pay more for electricity and petrol.

  1. Remember in 1996 petrol was R2 a litre now i am having to put in my tank in a day what i used to put in it in a week. Where are we all supposed to get the money from
