Tragic death after six-man assault

A night out leads to tragedy after a man was beaten to death at the Little Eagle Spur in Lemon Tree.

ALBERTON – Six suspects, four males aged between 23 and 27 and two females between the ages of 22 and 27, have been arrested after an assault leading to the death of Bradley du Preez.

Patrons of the Little Eagle Spur in the Lemon Tree shopping centre in Alberton started assaulting Bradley after he allegedly threw a glass in their direction. SAPS Alberton was notified of the assault.

A docket has been opened and an investigation is under way. The six suspects were arrested on the scene. They are charged with murder and will appear in the Palmridge court on Tuesday June 24.

“Our hearts go out to the parents and family of the deceased,” commented Pierre van Tonder, CEO of the Spur Group. “We take this matter very seriously and will continue to co-operate fully with the authorities in this heartbreaking situation.”

Brett Milligan, Little Eagle Spur Franchise owner, said: “We have been in touch with his family, and extend our sincere condolences to them at this time.”
