Brackendowns police on a crime busting blitz

SAPS Brackendowns made strides to ensuring the community is safer as they continued to make more arrests.

Crime bust:

BRACKEDOWNS – On June 13, at around 21:30, Brackendowns SAPS reservists were on duty doing patrols around Jackson Street, Brackenhurst when they noticed a vehicle parked along Jackson Street.

The vehicle pulled off when they saw the police van and they chased it and pulled it off the road. The SAPS searched the vehicle and found drugs in their possession.

The SAPS arrested two suspects dealing in drugs and they appeared at Palm Ridge court on June 17.

Both suspects were given bail of R1500.

Same suspect, different day:

On June 19 at around 04:30, members of SAPS Brackendowns on duty night shift did a stop and search in Vaal Road, Brackendowns.

They searched a white Yaris and found the driver in possession of drugs and a jungle knife. The suspect was one of the two that were arrested on June 13 for dealing in drugs.

Arrests:

Arrests from June 10 until June 19: 12 theft, three assault and malicious damage to property, three assault GBH, three posession of suspected stolen goods, three contempt of court, one posession of dangerous weapon and drugs, one dealing in drugs, two posession of stolen motor vehicle, one drunk and driving.
