Drug mule to share his story at Wedge Gardens

Shani Krebs knows how a person’s life can be destroyed by drugs but he also knows that it is possible to stop using and start afresh.

He spent over 18 years in Thailand’s notorious Bangkwang Central Prison after being arrested in Thailand in 1994 for carrying 2.2 kg of heroin.

Krebs’ time in jail changed him and when he was released in 2012, he was determined to help as many addicts as possible discover that a drug-free life is within their reach.

Today, Krebs is an author and motivational speaker. Last month, his memoir Dragons and Butterflies was published.

Rand Aid Association-run Wedge Gardens treatment centre is hosting a talk by Krebs on Thursday, June 26, for its halfway house patients, in-patients and interested members of the public.

The venue is Whitney Road, Whitney Gardens, Johannesburg, and the event starts at 6:30 for 7pm. Entry is free.
